Grease catchers
Technical Specifications
Grease catcher is a primary treatment unit. It prevents greasy pollution from entering household and industrial sewerage and increases overall effectiveness of further clarification units.
Purpose and principle of operation
According to (Construction Norms and Regulations) SNIP 2.04.01-85 a primary clarifier (sedimentation and grease catching unit) captures and removes unemulsified greases, oils, suspended particles from the combined wastewater mass of meat and poultry processing and other enterprises.
The wastewater mass is conveyed to the TehFat primary clarifier through pipes, there it is clarified from the main mass of unemulsified grease, oil carriers and so forth. The sludge is regularly removed and channelled for disposal.
The operation of grease catching system is based on the effect of separation of greases from water masses upon change of the direction of water flows, the lighter fractions rising to the surface. Heavy fractions, when they pass a thin layer settler, are deposited, and settle in the sedimentation area.
