Pressure-fed flotation units – foam and floatation separation units

Technical Specifications

Pressure flotation units remove all fats, oils, suspensions, oil products and other impurities from the effluent. Flotators are actively used at railway enterprises, gas stations, in food production, at oil refineries and oil extraction plants and factories.

Purpose and principle of operation

Thanks to an industrial flotation unit it is possible to separate contaminating substances from wastewater. The wastewater flows directly onto the TehGrid bar screen where large objects are filtered. Then the flow passes the TehFat primary clarifier, there it is clarified of the most part of greases and oils. The rest is removed by means of scraper mechanism of the clarifier, which transfers them by means of a dumpster for disposal. The sediment remains in the sludge tank.

To suppress putrefactive smell, the compressor mixes wastewaters in the TehTank equalization tank, from where the pump conveys the wastewater to a pressure-fed flotation unit, where the foam and floatation separation unit clarifies wastewater from hydrophobic and light suspended solids.

A high degree of clarification at the stage of flotation is achieved in two stages: at the first stage the wastewater flows in for treatment with the TehFLo M flotation unit, and at the second — for treatment with the TehFLo flotation unit.

In flotation unit’s Chemicals Management Complex these chemicals are injected for a maximum clarification: 5-10 percent solution of coagulant in a dose of 50-100 g/m3 of wastewater by active agent, and into the mixed stream pipe of the station is added the 0.1 percent water solution of flocculant (1-2 g/m3). The preparation and dosage of reagent solution is done by the TehSp reagents feeder stations.
